Obituary for Ronald Eugene Duncan

Ron E. Duncan, 79, A longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, died Saturday morning, April 28, 2018 at his home.

RON EUGENE DUNCAN was born January 23, 1939 in Sacramento, California, the son of the late Archie Eugene Duncan and Lila Evelyn (Lynch) Duncan. He was raised by his Grandma Starbucks and received his education in the communities of Diamond Springs, Sacramento, El Cerrito, and Folsom, California.

He joined the United States Army on June 16, 1957 in Oakland, California. Ron served for six months, until receiving his honorable discharge on December 13, 1957 at Fort Ord, California.

Ron was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sis LaVonne Tonner, on May 5, 2012 in Reno, Nevada. They celebrated almost 13 years together. They would have celebrated their 6th Wedding Anniversary this coming May. Following their marriage they have made their home in the Forest Grove community in 2010, where he’d resided since.

He had worked for many years in body and fender repair in the automotive industry, until he retired.

Among his special interests, he enjoyed collecting and polishing knifes, spending time with Sis, and caring for his pitbull dog, “Lokey”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lila Duncan and his brothers, Jimmy Duncan and Danny Hankins, and his niece, Sherry Hetzel.

Survivors include his wife, Sis Duncan, of the family home in Forest Grove, Oregon; his five children and their spouses, Deborah and Wayne Cook, of Reno, Nevada; Ronnie and Brandy Duncan, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Linda and Richard Polites, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; David Duncan, of Carlton, Oregon and Tony and Hevrard Poythress, and their daughter, Raeyna, of Hillsboro, Oregon; and his two brothers, Gater Lang, of Gaston, Oregon and George Cline, of Forest Grove, Oregon.

Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
