Obituary for Elizabeth Hering

Elizabeth Hering, 80, resident of the Forest Grove community, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home.

Elizabeth Hering, 80 died March 24, 2018 at her home in Forest Grove.

Liz was born at home on October 20, 1937 in Tazewell, Tennessee, a daughter of Wager and Onlee Crutchfield. She was the seventh of nine daughters. When she was 7 years old (1944) the family moved from their home in Lone Mountain, Tennessee to Gales Creek, Oregon. She graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1955. She was baptized and confirmed in 1960 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church.

After Raymond Hering left the Army in August Liz married him on November 28, 1958 and made their home in Cornelius. Elizabeth was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her home and raising their 2 children. She also enjoyed antiquing, garage sales, and spoiling her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Hering, daughter Lynn and (Sandra) Gurske and son (Larry) and Ann Hering, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Of her nine sisters she is survived by, June Hurst, Mollie Craig, Josephine Milkovich and Peggy McQuary.

Memorials can be given to St Peter’s Lutheran Church, 4265 SW Golf Course Rd, Cornelius, OR 97113, in Liz’s name.
