Obituary for Leonard Allen Wood

Leonard Allen Wood, 90, a resident of the Banks community, died Monday night, April 29, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Beaverton.

Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.

Leonard’s wish was to not have a formal memorial, however the family would love to have you share any thoughts or special memories of him.


LEONARD ALLEN WOOD was born June 2, 1928 in Curtis, Nebraska, the son of the late Elzie Clinton Wood and Priscilla Hannah (Hoyt) Wood.

Leonard worked as a logger in his younger years and was a Machinist in the Manufacturing industry for many years.

He enjoyed building things including several homes. He was very talented at wood working and fixing things.

Leonard was preceded in death by his wife Laura (Randall) Wood, his parents, Elzie and Priscilla Wood, by his brother, James Wood, by his sisters, Relda Peters and Irma Mack, and by his son, Lawrence Wood.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Susan and Frances Hiatt, of Beaverton, Oregon; Tom and Bethann Wood, of Banks, Oregon, and Clara and Rick Sutter, of Banks, Oregon.

Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
