Obituary for Jesse V. Smith

Jessie V. Smith, 66, member of the Forest Grove community, died Thursday evening, August 1, 2019 at Jennings McCall II in Forest Grove.

Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.

JESSE VERNON SMITH, JR. was born October 23, 1952 in Angelo, Texas, the son of the late Jesse Vernon Smith and Lelah Marie (Alexander) Smith. He was raised and received his education in the Forest Grove community, having been a graduate of the Forest Grove High School Class of 1970.

Jesse worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Forest Grove for many years.

Among his special interests, he had a special love for music, playing and singing.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lelah Smith.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Jen Smith, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at the Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Gretel and Steve Allen, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Shadowmoon and Dan Wolf, of Tigard, Oregon; his three sisters and brothers-in-law, Twila and George Smith of Hillsboro, Oregon; Lisa and Mike Asuncion, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Tannie and Mike Montano, of Ventura, California.

Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, Montana Smith, Jesse Smith, Stone Allen, Cole allen, Isabella Allen, Georgiamoon Allen, Jaegger Wolf, and Maverick Wof and several nieces and nehews.
