Obituary for Edwin A. Sillmann

Edwin A. Sillmann, 73, resident of the Aloha community, died Monday evening, July 8, 2019, at his home.

Private cremation rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.

Edwin Allen Sillmann was born February 25th, 1946 in Sabetha, Kansas. The family moved to Hillsboro, Oregon in 1950 where he attended David Hill and Brookwood Elementary schools, BW Barnes Junior High and graduated from Hilhi in 1964. Edwin was in the National Guard from 1964-1969.

Edwin (Ed) worked for ESCO Manufacturing in Portland, Oregon for 47 years. He travelled to England, Canada and other places as a result of his work.

Ed enjoyed riding his Harley and taking special bike trips with friends to Moses Lake, to Anacortes for the Oyster Run, Nevada, and Montana. He also enjoyed golfing, reading and playing cards with his siblings and nieces and nephews. His other interests were hunting, fishing, target shooting, boating, inner tubing and snow skiing. Ed also climbed Mt Hood and parachuted twice.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mabel Sillmann, and his oldest brother, Bill.

Survivors include his 2 stepsons: Bob and his wife Lori; Chad and his wife Cheryl. His brother Lee and wife Barbara, sister Laverna, and sister Darlene and husband David. Other survivors include his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Remembrances may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital in Edwin’s memory.
