Obituary for Arnold Dobson

Arnold Dobson, 91, resident of the Forest Grove community, died Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019, at his home.

ARNOLD FAY DOBSON was born June 5, 1928 in Tillamook, Oregon, the son of the late Marvin Dobson and Verlie (Coop) Dobson. He was raised and received his education in the communities of Tillamook, Oregon; Brewster, Washington and Cottage Grove, Oregon.

He was united in marriage to Nancy J. Leighty on April 1, 1998 in Forest Grove, Oregon. They celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary this past April. Following their marriage, they resided in the communities of Burns, Oregon; Forest Grove, Oregon, Laurelwood, Oregon and then back to the Forest Grove community, where he resided since.

Arnold worked as in the logging industry, as an independent gypo logger for many years, until he retired.

Among his special interests, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and he was a very skilled mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Verlie Dobson and his daughter, Kathleen Marie Wilson, on March 29, 2012. He was also preceded by brothers; Floyd Louis, Ralph Alfred, Arthur Lee, Donald Dale, and Bert LeRoy. As well as his sisters; Ruth Elenor Dobson, Bertha Louise (Dobson) Holland, and Edith Ellen (Dobson) Sattler.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Dobson, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his two daughters and a son-in-law, Lanette Key and Patrick Dupon, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Denise Vandehey, of Hillsboro, Oregon; his brother, Carl Dobson, of Spokane, Washington and Ida Pruitt, of Central Point, Oregon. His siblings Nola Rosetta (Dobson Detrick of Yakima Washington, Ida Leota (Dobson) Pruitt of Central Point, Oregon, Carol alvin Dobson of Spokane and Brewster, Washington, Linda Kay (Dobson) Anson of Brewster, Washington, Harol Eugene Dobson of Pickens, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Veronica Vandehey; Sammi Vandehey and Kenny and Pennie Peasley, and Jelani Dupon his four great-grandchildren, Shealyne, Kevin, Kaden, and Shelby.

Private Cremation Rites were held at the Hoyt Crematory in Forest Grove.
