Obituary for Alvin W. Fischer

Alvin W. Fischer, 89, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Tuesday morning September 3, 2019, at his home.

ALWIN WAYNE FISCHER was born February 23, 1930 in Hendricks, Minnesota, the son of the late William and Mattie Fischer. He was raised and received his education in the community, due to farming with the family business he went to the 8th grade.

He was united in marriage to Marlene Jane Werner on June 11, 1960 in Pipestone, Minnesota. They celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary this past June. Follow their marriage they resided in many communities of the Pacific Northwest, until they moved to the Forest Grove community, where they have resided since.

Alvin worked as a Farmer for many years, and then as a mechanic until his retirement.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pipestone, Minnesota.

Among his special interests, he enjoyed spending time outdoor, skiing, 4-wheeling, fishing, and camping, he also enjoyed watching the WWE, bowling, and going to Reno. Alvin was a very caring and giving man, always willing to help in any way he could! He loved spending time with his children and all the grandchildren, always putting them before himself. He was a very patient man, never got angry and was always thinking things through. He was smart and very sharp. He remembered everything down o the time and date!

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mattie Fischer; by his brothers Jerry Fischer, and Joe Fischer; by his sisters, Marian Runia, and Margaret Weinkauf; by his sister-in-law, Nana Fischer; by his brothers-in-law, Bob Runia, Dick Runia, and Johnny Hagg.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Fischer, of the family home in Forest Grove, Oregon; his children and their spouses, Dallas Fischer, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Lori and William Hansel, of Sherwood, Oregon; Nancy Fischer and her significant other Dan Matin, of Forest Grove, Oregon; his sisters, Marlys Runia, of Lebanon, Oregon; Sharon Hagg, of Pipestone, Minnesota; his brother, Larry Fischer, of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to his wife Marlene Fischer in his memory.
